The Central, Subspecialty, and Tehranpars pharmacies of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, affiliated with the Medical Procurement Organization, recorded a 32% increase in prescription intake in September 2025 compared to the previous month—marking a significant step toward enhancing pharmaceutical services and improving patient access.
According to the Public Relations and
International Affairs Unit of the Medical Procurement Organization, this
notable growth reflects the Organization’s ongoing efforts to improve
pharmaceutical services across its network. The 32% rise in prescription
processing, compared to August, underscores the effectiveness of recent
operational measures aimed at streamlining patient visits and responding more
efficiently to medication needs.
Key initiatives contributing to this improvement
include the presence of insurance company representatives during morning
shifts, as well as the afternoon deployment of representatives from Iran’s two
primary insurance providers—Social Security and Health Insurance—to resolve
patient insurance issues on-site.
Additionally, the appointment of two pharmacy
staff members as “Patient Assistants” has played a vital role in guiding
visitors—particularly the elderly and individuals with disabilities—thereby
optimizing the service delivery pathway.
Complementing pharmaceutical services, the
medical equipment sales unit located within the subspecialty pharmacy continues
to meet critical patient needs by offering essential therapeutic items,
including specialized equipment for patients with rare conditions.
Guided by its humanitarian mission, the Medical
Procurement Organization of the Iranian Red Crescent Society remains committed
to advancing pharmaceutical services, expanding access, and supporting
vulnerable populations. The development of specialized services remains a top
priority in the Organization’s 2025 agenda.
