In line with ongoing efforts to enhance pharmaceutical and healthcare services, the pharmacies and medical equipment units affiliated with the Medical Procurement Organization of the Iranian Red Crescent Society recorded notable performance improvements in Mehr 1404 (September–October 2025). These gains reflect the organization’s sustained commitment to improving service quality and effectively addressing the healthcare needs of the community.
According
to the Public Relations and International Affairs Unit of the Medical
Procurement Organization, the number of prescriptions processed at the
organization’s affiliated pharmacies in Mehr rose by 8% compared to Shahrivar
(August–September). This increase is attributed to targeted initiatives aimed
at streamlining prescription intake procedures, upgrading service
infrastructure, and enhancing the overall quality of pharmaceutical care
provided to patients.
During
the same period, the medical equipment sales units located within the Red
Crescent’s specialized pharmacies achieved a 40% growth in sales. These units
played a vital role in supplying essential therapeutic items, including oxygen
concentrators, chemotherapy pumps, ostomy bags, antibacterial dressings, and
other specialized equipment, thereby facilitating patient access to critical
medical resources.
Dr.
Mohammadreza Shanehsaz, Managing Director of the Medical Procurement
Organization, stated:
“The
expansion of pharmaceutical and medical equipment services across our network
of pharmacies is the result of continuous process improvement and a steadfast
commitment to elevating the quality of care for patients. This trend
underscores the importance of strategic planning and effective collaboration in
meeting the healthcare demands of society, particularly among vulnerable
populations.”
These
achievements reaffirm the Medical Procurement Organization’s humanitarian
mission in the field of health and medicine and demonstrate its firm resolve to
advance the standard of healthcare services nationwide.
