Medical Procurement Organization: A Strategic Pillar in the National Supply Chain of Essential Medicines and Medical Supplies
Tehran – October 26, 2025 — With the launch of a new phase in its operational programs for the storage and distribution of essential medicines and medical equipment, the Medical Procurement Organization of the Iranian Red Crescent Society reaffirmed its strategic role in supporting the country’s healthcare system.

As a specialized institution in the field of pharmaceutical and medical supply provision, the organization operates a fully integrated supply chain — encompassing importation, production, distribution, and retail — under the supervision of qualified technical experts. Its mission is grounded in the sustainable, targeted, and equitable provision of life-saving therapeutic items.

Leveraging domestic capabilities, specialized infrastructure, and operational expertise, the organization has implemented extensive measures to strengthen the pharmaceutical supply chain, upgrade storage systems, and optimize distribution processes.

In this context, Dr. Mohammadreza Shanehsaz, Managing Director of the Medical Procurement Organization, stated:

“In line with our social responsibility and the humanitarian values of the Red Crescent Society, the organization has consistently pursued oversight and support programs to enhance national preparedness for emergencies and ensure stability in the supply of medicines and medical supplies. Our focus on access to specialized medications, collaboration with manufacturers and distributors, and the expansion of technical capacity has been central to our efforts in recent years.”

He added:

“With unwavering commitment to its health-centered mission, the organization continues to serve the well-being of the Iranian people with dedication and resolve.”
