A specialized meeting on the “Strategic Stockpiling of Medicines and Medical Equipment” was convened with the aim of reviewing implementation processes, assessing completed actions, and coordinating with the Food and Drug Administration to ensure the supply of essential items for the country.
According to the Public Relations and
International Affairs Unit of the Medical Procurement Organization, the meeting
was held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 (24 Aban 1404), under the chairmanship
of Dr. Mohammadreza Shanehsaz, Managing Director of the Medical Procurement
Organization, at the organization’s headquarters.
During the session, the operational
processes of the strategic stockpiling program for medicines and medical
equipment were discussed, and key measures taken in this field were presented.
It was also decided that the matter would be communicated to the Food and Drug
Administration to finalize agreements regarding the procurement and supply of
medicines and medical equipment in line with national needs.
Dr. Shanehsaz emphasized the
importance of strategically stockpiling vital items and the necessity of
continuous coordination between the Medical Procurement Organization and the
Food and Drug Administration. This initiative is being implemented within the
framework of the country’s overarching health policies to enhance preparedness,
strengthen crisis management, and ensure sustainable access to medicines and
medical equipment.
