33% Growth in Services Compared to Last Year, Aimed at Fostering Competition and Price Control
According
to the Public Relations and International Affairs Unit of the Medical
Procurement Organization, the Red Crescent Society's Center for Procurement and
Distribution of Medical Equipment and Supplies, in line with tangibly
fulfilling its statutory duties and enhancing the Red Society's role in meeting
national needs, succeeded in serving over 20,000 patients by the end of Dey
1404 (January 2026). This figure represents a 33% growth compared to the same
period last year.
Focusing
on creating a competitive environment to control the prices of consumable items
and improve access to quality and affordable equipment, the center has taken
effective steps in supporting the operational sustainability of clinics and
hospitals. Key programs of the center include supplying colostomy bags, wound
care tools, equipment related to diabetes and burns, as well as specialized
chemotherapy injection products.
In
addition, the expansion of homecare services and the provision of ancillary
medical supplies such as gloves, gauze, adhesive tape, specialized sprays, and
home health monitoring devices like blood pressure monitors, thermometers, and
blood glucose test kits have increased satisfaction among patients and medical
centers. Furthermore, the development of its inventory of practical equipment,
including hearing aids, continuous glucose monitoring sensors, various burn and
wound care supplies, and blood glucose test devices, has significantly helped
manage emergency demand and regulate supply.
The Medical Procurement Organization emphasizes that
providing quality and affordable goods for all segments of society is a top
priority in the center's macro policies, and honoring and respecting clients
and consumers always guides its activities. To properly respond to the
community's therapeutic needs, the center is active daily from Saturday to
Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM and on Thursdays until 4:00 PM. Located in
the specialized single-prescription pharmacy on Taleghani Street, it plays a key
role in improving public health indicators.
