The Medical Procurement Organization held a joint meeting on Sunday, June 22, 2026, with the participation of representatives from the Food and Drug Administration, Soha-Helal Distribution Company, and CEOs of single-prescription drug supplier companies (selected in the third call for price discovery and supply of single-prescription drugs in May 2026). The session emphasized resolving supply obstacles and facilitating financial and foreign exchange processes.

to the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of the Medical Procurement
Organization, the joint meeting with single-prescription drug supplier
companies was held on Sunday, June 22, 2026, at the organization's conference
hall. The session was attended by Dr. Sadeghian, Executive Advisor to the Managing
Director of the Medical Procurement Organization, senior headquarters managers,
representatives of the Food and Drug Administration, Soha-Helal Distribution
Company, and CEOs of single-prescription drug supplier companies.
The
meeting was convened in accordance with Article 10 of the Implementing
Regulations of Clause (c) of Article 71 of the Seventh Five-Year Development
Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and based on the official directive of
the Food and Drug Administration. It followed the third call for the
announcement of the single-prescription drug list previously issued by the
Medical Procurement Organization.
During
the proceedings, representatives of Soha-Helal Distribution Company presented a
report on the logistics and distribution status of pharmaceuticals across the
country and elaborated on the existing challenges in financial interactions and
the supply chain. The CEOs of single-prescription drug supplier companies also
raised their concerns, challenges, and obstacles in the supply process for
these pharmaceutical items, sharing them with attendees for consultation and
the development of operational solutions. Following discussions and deliberations
on the barriers ahead, it was decided that issues pertaining to foreign
currency allocation and IRC issuance would be reviewed promptly with special
follow-up by Dr. Ebrahimi, representative of the Food and Drug Administration,
and that facilitative measures would be adopted to resolve problems in this
domain.
At
the conclusion of the meeting, emphasis was placed on the continuation of
operational coordination among the Medical Supplies Organization, Soha-Helal
Distribution Company, and supplier companies, so that through maximum synergy,
the supply process for single-prescription drugs would be carried out with
greater speed and precision, and the needs of patients across the country would
be met in a timely and uninterrupted manner.
