The 395th session of the Deputy Council of the Red Crescent Society, chaired by Dr. Pirhossein Kolivand, Honorable President of the Red Crescent Society, was held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Peace Building. During this session, Dr. Mohammad Reza Shanesaz, Managing Director of the Medical Procurement Organization, presented the annual performance report of the Organization and its subsidiary companies, elaborating on programs and achievements across various domains, including revenue growth, development of healthcare infrastructure, national missions, and asset monetization.
According to the Public Relations
and International Affairs Unit of the Medical Procurement Organization, Dr.
Shanesaz, in accordance with the agenda, presented the plans, programs, and
performance report of the Organization and its subsidiary companies.
In his report, while providing a
comparative analysis of the performance of the year 1404 against that of 1403,
he reported on the alignment of budget and consolidated group performance,
increased holding company revenues, growth in profitability of affiliated
pharmacies, and a 142 percent increase in intra-group interactions.
The Managing Director of the
Medical Procurement Organization further addressed the Organization's role in
various dimensions of national missions and stated: "The supervision and
guidance of the importation, warehousing, and distribution of donated medicines
received during the Ramadan War conditions by Soha-Helal Distribution Company
and Soha Kish Commercial Company have been among the effective measures in this
domain."
Dr. Shanesaz also referred to the
establishment of sustainable infrastructure for the uninterrupted supply of
single-prescription medicines and announced that this process, carried out at Soha-Helal
Distribution Company and the Red Crescent Society pharmacies, has been
accompanied by considerable financial turnover and has enabled 3,300 patients
to receive their medications at the nearest Red Crescent pharmacy to their
place of residence.
He enumerated the establishment of
necessary processes for supplying the main brand-name medicines required by the
public at Red Crescent pharmacies, facilitating the procurement and
distribution channels for relief items through Soha Kish Commercial Company,
and the continued active provision of services, production, and fulfillment of
the community's health needs under wartime conditions as further achievements
in this area.
In another section of his report,
the Managing Director of the Medical Procurement Organization addressed the
development of healthcare infrastructure and stated: "The commissioning of
107 hemodialysis beds in the provinces of Tehran, Alborz, Zanjan, and Gilan,
the acquisition of licenses for the establishment of plasma collection centers
and a plasma fractionation plant, and the development of the plasma industry
aimed at the collection and processing of blood products are among the
fundamental measures undertaken in this domain."
He also referred to asset
monetization as one of the Organization's strategic programs and, further
noting the expansion of medical equipment supplies, announced that the sales
portfolio of consumable medical equipment products has been increased.
In concluding, he elaborated on
the National Dialysis Project, announcing the planning for the construction of
2,000 dialysis beds across the country within a five-year period, and
emphasized: "The Medical Procurement Organization, by leveraging all its
capacities, has taken effective steps toward the realization of the overarching
objectives of the Red Crescent Society and the enhancement of the community's
health standards."
